Who am I?
My name is Magali. In 2020, I graduated from East 15 Acting School in England. During my studies, I took part in exchange programs at GITIS (Royal Academy of Theatre Arts) in Moscow and ISI Denpasar (Dance-Drama) in Bali. There, I explored different ways of performing, scene study and character analysis, while researching how theatre connects people — as a mirror to society, a cultural and/or spiritual anchor, and a space for community.
Theatre & Performing
After graduating, I co-founded the theatre company Two Flats Theatre with fellow East 15 alumni and started working as a playwright. My play Chocolate Marmite Cake (2022) was a semi-finalist in the JPP competition, and The Dalton Sisters (2022) and A Blue Something (2021) were staged at The Space Theatre in London. I also work as an actress, both on stage — where I’ve collaborated multiple times with director Daniel Passi — and on screen, most recently in the production Kugel (2024) and a VRT commercial (2025).

Literature
In 2022, my debut novel Hanna was published — a true story about my great-grandmother, who was forced to abandon her daughter in a pram on the street during the war. The book was first released by Koehler Books (USA), followed by Just Publishers (Netherlands, 2023). In 2024, Hanna became one of the most borrowed books in Dutch libraries. Journalist Hans Knoop praised it, saying: “I read this book in one sitting. It feels like a film passing before your eyes. What a story!”
I’m currently working on my second novel, again with Just Publishers.
Film & TV
Alongside my writing, I work as a freelance dramaturg and creative developer. At Hollands Licht (Warner Bros ITVP), I was involved in series such as Dertigers V and various new projects in development. I’ve contributed to high-end drama series and films pitched to — and developed with — public broadcasters, Amazon Prime, Videoland, and Netflix. Together with two other dramaturgs, I led the first two editions of Nieuw Licht (2023 & 2024), a talent development program guiding emerging screenwriters through the process of writing a spec script.
In 2023, my project Karma, a four-part thriller series set in a burlesque nightclub, was selected as one of three finalists out of 534 submissions for the Streamz Academy competition. In collaboration with Eyeworks, I developed the concept into a fully-fledged pitch book and trailer.
Where?
I’m currently based in Amstelveen and work across the Netherlands, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. I’m open to freelance opportunities and creative collaborations.
